I just can't get this feeling from 2K, now that I've experienced 4. When I play a SimCity game, I do it to get a sense that I'm constructing a city, and to "live" in this little world.

So which one's better? Well, to me, SimCity4.

All in all, much like Civilization 3, it is a very good game, but you must sit down, practically quit what you're doing for a week, learn how to actually play it (the manual won't help), and really get into it to fully enjoy it. Regional play, although a great concept, can be a tedious hassle. It is way too complicated for a completely casual gamer to enjoy (and way too difficult, but the Rush Hour expansion removes this problem), and most computers can't handle it unless you turn the graphics all the way down (but if you do have a computer that can handle it, it looks amazing). (Just as many still prefer 3000 or 2000 over 4.) I really like SimCity 4, and still play it off and on to this day, but it isnt/wasnt all sunshine & roses. It's still a simple, fun game, but the awful (by today's standards) graphics and sound are a turn-off, to me at least. The terrain editor is ass, but not much more so than the asstastic terrain editor in SC3K.SimCity 2000 was awesome for its time, but it isn't that time anymore. It's nice to be able to have a "city" that is just about nothing but agricultural or residential, with the population commuting to jobs in neighboring cities that have a more commercial or industrial bent. I'd also strongly recommend getting the new Prima guide for SimCity 4 Deluxe it's just chock-full of ways to keep your city above water. Also, it adds much better transportation options (one-way streets, elevated rail, car/passenger ferries, oodles of bridge options, ground-level highways, etc.), and the ability to micromanage your tax base like you could in SimCity 2000. The best you should do is just to buy SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition because it does contain both the rush hour and. But if you bought the SimBox, You would get more stuff. Sim city 4 Deluxe edition and rush hour are the same. The key is that expansion pack without it, SC4 runs in nothing but "Hard" mode, and let me tell you: they aren't kidding about that rating. Nuff said :D Man0fBass - 11 years ago 1 0. And finally, YOU CAN BUILD ON A SLOPE! Only took two decades for them to finally get that little bit in there, but it is oh-so-nice! The graphics are much better, the options are more plentiful, and - if you have the RushHour expansion - it's not that much more difficult than SimCity 3000. As Jollus indicated, yes, but with the RushHour expansion (SimCity 4 Deluxe includes the whole shebang).
